We may have a railfan trip to Clovis, Oct. 19th. Details are still underway and we should have and up date from Ken at the meeting.

Board Members

It is time once again to start thinking about who will lead us through the next coming year. Nominations for next year will be taken at the meeting. In November, the names of the board members will be decided. And in December the board members will be voted into their office. Then in January they will take charge. The office of librarian will be open this time around also.

__________

Holiday Display

We will need the names of those members who will participate in putting up the modules in the Science Spectrum. November 14th is the set up date.

__________

Model Railroad Month

November is that month, and we would like to have some home layout tours. If you would like to open your layout to the club, please let us know at the meeting.

__________

Note

Don's Hobbies & More has moved to 4035 34th Street. The store is located across from Checker Auto Parts, on the other side of Orlando Ave.

__________

Power Plant

Point of interest. The Crosbyton power plant is abandoned and still standing. With "City Power and Light" painted over it's face, the building is on a corner not far from the last grain elevator, on your left as you head east out of town. Inside the building, as you enter from any of a number of open doors, are three diesel generator sets of six cylinders each. Take your camera, and be careful, a lot of discarded parts and tools lay about the floor.

__________

A New Division is Formed

We will be Nd Track & Ntrak Interest Group. Our aim is to have more group operation, and to have fun in the process. We will have started toward this goal with the construction of modules in Bend Track format on September 28th, and again on October 5th at 9:30 on Saturday.

We will have the material available at these work sessions, more will be planned to cover the electrical, and track design. Other subjects can be covered that pertains to N Scale. We had a meeting on Friday evening, Sept. 20th at Godeke library and present were Nancy Reed, Ken Wiggins, Jack Seay, and Bob Moulton and it was decided to proceed with building modules for Bend Track, and to have a set-up at the Oct. 7th meeting. We are looking to display at the mall in November, and at the Science Spectrum. [The mall setup was later cancelled, as the modules had not yet been sceniced.]
